Work for Happy Feelings

Do you know that feelings or emotions are a part of everything you do? When you are happy, your food digests better than when you are angry, worried or happy.

When you are happy, it is easier for your body to do its work. You sleep better, you can work and play better. That is why it is important to keep finding ways of feeling happy.

For example, when you have a problem, it helps to tell some older person what is bothering you. When you have angry feelings, it is better to let them out than it is to keep these feelings inside you. Anger that is bottled up comes out in ways that hurt not only the person himself but it may vent on others who are not to blame. This angry person may find that his stomach hurts or he feels so sick that he can’t even work and play well. He also could be bullying smaller children or pets, to get rid of this anger he has in his chest.

Doing things for others, learning to do something new, working and playing with others, all help give satisfaction and make one feel happier.

Sometimes, unpleasant feelings come when you do not feel unsuccessful. You can change them to more pleasant feelings by remembering that there are things that you can do well.

People tend to like people who seem happy and at peace with themselves. But this doesn’t mean that if you have a problem, you shouldn’t feel free to share it and discuss it with others. In order to make friends, it is necessary to reveal one’s real feelings. The person who wears a mask and never allows himself to be known to others is apt to have a rough time making close friends.

While it may help to be good looking, sometimes extraordinary beauty can scare others away. A good personality, a good sense of humor and an ability to care about others and to really listen when they talk are a lot more important than being the smartest on the block or the most beautiful.

“If I were to draw up ten commandments for those earnestly seeking to fight successfully the battle of life,” said B.C. Forbes, founder of the Forbes Magazine, “they would read:

“First – Study

Second – Sweat

Third – Keep accounts

Fourth – Save systematically

Fifth – Take out life insurance

Sixth – Buy your own home

Seventh – Invest in sound securities, or launch your own business

Eight – Educate your children

Ninth – Travel

Tenth – Give generously.”
