Feeling of shame and embarrassment makes you blush. And nobody can help you from blushing. When you blush, the blood rushes to your face, ears, neck and upper part of the chest, which makes them turn red. It occurs often during puberty until the age of thirty after which it slowly vanishes.
Men and women can blush easily during uncomfortable situations. During the Victorian era, it was expected for women to blush as a sign for innocence, today, they are not, even if they make faux fas (false step) during social gathering or hear off-color story or remark, and generally they do not.
